Quantity Surveying

The department of QS have both ND and HND programmes. The department graduated the first set of HND in June 1995 at about the same time it received the accreditation team for the full accreditation of the programme. The department also runs a degree programme in affiliation with Federal University of Technology, Minna, which started 2018/2019 academic session. The department currently has 37 academic staff, 3 technicians, and 3 administrative staff. In addition, the department now have 4 PhD holders in Quantity Surveying, 22 staff with masters degree in construction management and Quantity Surveying. In the area of professional membership, the department have 25 registered QS.

Addmission Requirement

National Diploma Requirement (ND)

Candidate should possess 5 O’level credit in English language, Mathematics, Physics, and any two of the following; Economics/Commerce, Chemistry, Geography, Further mathematics, Biology, Technical drawing, Wood work/Metal work.

Higher National Diploma Requirement (HND)

Candidate should possess a National Diploma (ND) with a minimum of lower credit plus a minimum of one year post ND work experience. Note that, candidate with ND pass grade must have a minimum of two years post ND work experience.
Candidate should also possess 5 O’level credit in English language, Mathematics, Physics, and any two of the following; Economics/Commerce, Chemistry, Geography, Further mathematics, Biology, Technical drawing, Wood work/Metal work.

QS Dr. Leje, Mohammed Isah is a principal lecturer in the department of Quantity Surveying, The Federal Polytechnic, Bida, Niger state. He holds a B.Tech (second class upper division) in Quantity Surveying, 2006 (Federal University of Technology, Minna), Msc in Construction Management, 2016 (University of Jos), and PhD in Quantity Surveying, 2021 (Universiti Teknologi Malaysia).He is a member of the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS), and a registered Quantity Surveyor with the Quantity Surveyors Registration of Nigeria (QSRBN)
