Hospitality Management

The Department started many years ago with few students. It lost accreditation at a point because of shortage of academic staff. Today, most of the staff of this departmental have Postgraduate degrees and some are at the tail end their PhD programmes

Why Study Here?

There are lots of opportunities for graduates of Hospitality Management. Apart from working in hotel establishments, graduates of this field can be gainfully employed as Catering Officers in establishments where catering services are provided. They can also work with airlines and Protocol Officers in government houses. Graduates of Hospitality Management can also work with Travel Agencies and other tourism related fields. Among others there are also opportunities in being self employed through event planning, consultancy services, etc, etc.

Addmission Requirement

National Diploma Requirement (ND)

Aside from National Diploma, O”level requirement is the same for both ND and HND. National Diploma admissions are done by JAMB.

Higher National Diploma Requirement (HND)

A National Diploma from a Polytechnic recognized by NBTE, an O’ level credit pass in English and Mathematics and any two of Biology or Agriculture, Chemistry, Economics, Geography, and Food and Nutrition or Home Science.
