MOHAMMED IDRIS hails from Lavun Local Government Area of Niger state. He obtained his Certificate of Primary Education in 1986, Senior School Certificate in 1992, Certificate in Laboratory Technology in 1994, Diploma in Science Laboratory Technology in 1996 and Higher National Diploma in Science Laboratory Technology (Microbiology/ virology) in 2003. He further obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Biological Science from Bayero University, Kano in 2007 and a Master of Science Degree in Microbiology from University of Abuja, in 2015. Presently, he is a PhD scholar with the Department of Microbiology, Federal University of Technology, Minna. He enrolled into public service in January, 1998 as an Assistant Technologist with the Department of Basic and Applied Sciences, Niger State Polytechnic, Zungeru and rose to the Rank of Senior Technologist in January 2012. He thereafter transferred in services to The Federal Polytechnic, Bida Niger State in the same year 2012 and progressed to the Rank of Senior Lecturer in January, 2021. He undertook series of Administrative Assignments in the two (2) Polytechnic systems in which he served. These include Assistant Examination Officer, Department of Basic & Applied Sciences, N.S.P Zungeru (2006-2008), Staff Adviser to the student Association , Officer-in-charge of different Laboratories at different times (Pharmaceutical Laboratories / Instrumentation Laboratory II and Biology Laboratory) of SLT Department , Federal Polytechnic Bida. The latest and current been his appointment as Adviser, Association of School of Applied and Natural Science Students (ASANSS). He has also served on several Departmental and ASUP Committees over the years. He assumed office as the Ag. Director, Directorate of Tetfund Intervention and Other Grants in June, 2023
