Dr. Fashagba Paul Femi attended St. Patricks L.S.M.B Primary School, Ogale-Ijumu, Kogi State between 1976 – 1982 and St. Augustine’s College Kabba, Kogi State 1983 – 1988. He had a brief stay at Plateau School of Accountancy Jos, Plateau State 1989 -1991, where he obtained Doploma in Accounting. Dr. Fashagba proceeded to the prestigious Bayero University, Kano where he bagged his first degree in Accounting with Second Class in 1997. As a result of his crave for functional Accounting System in Nigeria, Dr. Fashagba further bagged his Masters of Science Degree (M.Sc) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) from the renowned Bowen University, Iwo, Osun State in 2015 and 2021 respectively. Having completed his Natuonal Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme in Niger Nor West African Company Limited, Jimeta-Yola in 1998, Dr. Fashagba joined Dele-Otitoju & Co. (Chartered Accountants) Minna between 1998 and 1999. Specifically, this astute accountant joined the service of Federal Polytechnic, Bida in 1999 as an Assitant Lecturer in the Department of Accountancy and rose through the ranks and currently, is a Chief Lecturer. As an astute academic administrator, he has held several positions of responsibilities in the institution including Deputy-Dean Students’ Affairs and Dean Students’ Affairs. Currently, he is the Director, Academic Planning Unit of the institution. This position he has been holding since 2020 leading to accreditation and reaccreditation of over thirty academic programmes of the institution in 2022 under his leadership. This record which has never been matched by any other Director of the unit. This illustrious accountant became a Fellow of Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN) in 2021and a prominent member of Chartered Institute of Finance and Control of Nigeria (CIFCN) since 2015. Also, this painstaking accountant has served as member, Council Selction Board for Polytechnic Principal Officers’ Appointments. Also, member of sensitive and important committees of the institution with remarkable impacts, such as, Admission Screening Committee, Senior Staff Promotions Committee, Polytechnic Manuscript Development Committee, Polytechnic Fabrication Committee amongst others. The avid researcher, committed and innovative writer has published several scholarly publications and presented papers at academic conferences too numerous to mention both locally and internationally. In community service, ebullient Dr. Fashagba Paul Femi has held leadership positions and impacted tremendously on individuals and groups, particularly the youths viz: Former President of Ogale Progressive Union – a Socio-cultural group; President Mascot Club of Ogale, Kogi State; Recognized Community Leader in Ijumu Local Government of Kogi State and Founder/President of POFACO Cooperative of Federal Polytechnic, Bida, which he founded with his wealth of accounting expertise and experience. The positive impacts made by this meticulous accountant in Nigeria and internationally has earned him several decorations and recognitions such as Ijumu Local Government Council: Award of Humanitarian Service as Icon of Education and Human Development in Ijumu land (2022); Rotary International, District 9125, Nigeria: Selfless Service Award in Recognition and Appreciation of Immense Contributions towards Humanity, Youth Development and Community at Large (2022); Federal Polytechnic, Bida: Award of Excellence as Best Director in the Polytechnic, 2021; Students’ Union Government (Federal Polytechnic, Bida): Award of Excellence as Chief Doyen of Nigerian Students. In Recognition of Outstanding Contribution towards Educational Development and Youth Empowerment (2021); Students’ Union Government (Office of the Vice-President): Award of Excellence as Icon of Human Capital Development (2021); Ogale Progressive Union (Idi-Oro Ogale): Award of Excellence in Recognition of Outstanding Contribution to the Socio-cultural Development of Idi-Oro Ogale in Kogi State (2021); Omo Oodua Yoruba Community (Northern Nigeria): Award of Excellence for Tremendous achievements in uplifting of many citizens across board (2020); National Association of Kogi/Benue States Students – Niger State Polytechnic Chapter: Award of Honor in recognition of of Immeasurable Service, Outstanding Achievements, and Laudable Contribution to the Community (2020) ; National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS): National Outstanding Leadership Award as Icon of Hope for Nigerian Students (2018) amongst others.
