The department has been existing for more than three decades, and fully equipped with workshops and laboratory for the purpose of carrying out the practicals that would make the students self reliance after their program. The workshops and laboratory in the department are; 1. Carpentry workshop 2. Plumbing workshop 3. Painting and decoration 4. Brick/Block Laying workshop and 5. Science Laboratory i.e Concreting and Structural Laboratory. The program offer by the department is ND and HND with not less than 30 staff including the Academic and Non-Academic staff comprising the lecturers, instructors, technologies/technicians and workshop/laboratory attendance. Open the completion of the programme after two years, the students can be gainfully self employed by either becoming a Tiller, Plumber, Painter, Carpenter, and Brick/Mason etc. or may further the education and become Building Production Manager, Facilities Manager and Maintenance Manager etc.

Addmission Requirement
National Diploma Requirement (ND)
Candidates applying for admission to study Building Technology at ND level is required to have a minimum of five credit in O’level with Mathematics, English and Physics as compulsory in addition to any other two science subject and a cut off mark agree by JAMB and the institutions for the entering.
Higher National Diploma Requirement (HND)
Candidates applying to study Building Technology at HND level is required to have a minimum entering requirements of lower credit with credit in Mathematics, English and Physics as compulsory in addition to any other two science subject in O’level.

Bldr. Dr. JIBRIN Ibrahim Mohammed attended the following institutions with dates: Nelson Mandela University, Port Elizabeth, South Africa, between 2019-2021; University of Jos in 2006 –2011; Federal University of Technology, Minna 2001–2002 and 1990 –1997 respectively; Federal School of Arts and Science, Suleja 1988-1989; Government College, Kutigi 1982-1988; and Ungwa-Wangwa Primary School, Dabban between 1977 -1982. Open the completion of the programme he therefore, obtained the following Qualifications: Doctor of Philosophy(PhD) in Construction Management in 2021; Master of Science(MSc) in Construction Management in 2011; Post Graduate Diploma(PGD) in Environmental Management, 2002; Bachelor of Technology(BTech) Building, 1997; West Africa School Certificate (GCEO/ Level) 1989; West Africa School Certificate (GCEO/ Level) 1988; and First School Leaving Certificate(FLC) in 1982. Dr. Jibrin has worked in many places with a lot of experiences, among is Konduga Local Government -Borno State (NYSC) Aug.1998-Jul.1999; E.O.II.Suleiman Barau Technical College Suleja Dec.1999-May 2000; E.
