Agricultural and Bio-Environmental Engineering

Agricultural and Bio-Environmental Engineering started in full force by 1981 at National Diploma with 20 students. Higher National Diploma came on board few years later but cancelled by NBTE for not meeting up to the requirements because of lack of man power and laboratories. However, HND began again 1995 with three options: Farm Power, Post Harvest and Soil and Water Engineering Options. Both ND and HND are still acredited re-acredited up to date.

Addmission Requirement

National Diploma Requirement (ND)

O’level five credits including all the three science subjects + UTME”s score above cut off Mark.

Higher National Diploma Requirement (HND)

O”level and National Diploma from any approved Polytechnic

RAIFU ISMAILA ATANDA

Head of Department

RAIFU ISMAILA ATANDA attended Victory Primary School, Ibadan and obtained primary leaving certificate in 1972. He proceeded from there to Baptist High School, Ogbomosho for Secondary School Certificate in 1979. Engr. Atanda worked briefly at Nigerian television authority, Ibadan for more than three years. In 1983 , he got admission to read agricultural engineering in the faculty of engineering technology, university of Ibadan. He graduated with second class lower in 1988 and came back again for master degree in 1995 and graduated in 1997. Raifu Ismail Atanda joined the service of Federal Polytechnic, Bida. institution on June, 1992 as Lecturer III. After working previously with Leventis Farms, for one year and College of Agriculture, Maiduguri for two years. However, he is presently a Chief Lecturer and Head of The Department of Agricultural and Bio- Environmental Engineering.Also, he associates whith three professional bodies namely: Member of Nigerian Institute of Agricultural Engineering ( M. 532 , Member of Nigerian Society of Engineers (M12302), and Finally The Council of Register Engineers.
